| From the leader in calibration standards for electron
microscopes comes the calibration alignment tool users of small spot XRF systems
have been asking for, the Micro XRF Checker. Small spot XRF systems are high performance machines for performing XRF analysis in a region as small as 100 microns in diameter. To get the most performance out of your system, the x-ray beam must be carefully aligned to ensure that the correct area of your sample is being analyzed. Until now there was no simple and effective way to do this. That is why we designed the Micro XRF Checker. The Micro XRF Checker is a precision flat ground copper disk, 1 3/16" diameter x 1/8" thick. On its surface are two high precision Molybdenum plates with 100 and 150 micron diameter openings, for fine and coarse alignment. You place the Micro XRF Checker on the sample tray and align the system by locating the x-ray beam in the opening in either of the molybdenum plates. Since the copper substrate is exposed in the center of each plate, you will generate a maximum copper signal when the beam is properly aligned in the center of the aperture. Systems that are out of alignment will show only a molybdenum signal. Get the performance from your system that was designed into it.
